Bio

I have always been deeply inspired by magnificent landscapes and the natural beauty of Northern California. Raised in the solitude of Tahoe National Forest, I was homeschooled and didn’t have much of a social life, however my childhood was marked by a sense of adventure and a unique connection to the outdoors. My isolation allowed me the space to cultivate my creativity, drawing and writing my own stories as I explored the world around me.

Even though I was homeschooled, my teachers always nurtured my artistic expression. At the age of seven I had my first art show at a coffee shop in Nevada City which was featured in the local newspaper. I always believed this to be a testament to the local community’s encouragement and support of the arts, and this early experience gave me a taste of what the fine art trade had to offer.

Later on in community college, I had a compassionate instructor who soon became an influential mentor. He introduced me to oil paints and eventually his solid belief in my work cemented my feelings of belonging in the art community.

Today I persist in finding inspiration in the natural world around me, and my goal is to document my admiration for its incredible beauty. While many see isolation as a negative, it sparked my creativity as a child and any other upbringing wouldn’t have offered the wonderful, influential people who helped form the artist I am now. 

It was always a goal of mine to attend Academy of Art University, and while I didn’t get started as soon as I would have liked to, I am thrilled to build on my skillset and meet more artists in the art community.
